Frequently Asked Questions
For Sellers
How much does it cost to list a vehicle on Mint Motoring?
Listings are initially completely free and will be live on our site for up to 6 months. As a seller, you receive 100% of the winning offer from the buyer. Selling parties will only be charged a $250 early closing fee if they opt to close the listing before the end of the 6-month period. If the listing is still live at the end of the 6-month listing period, no fee will be charged.
What vehicles are selected for Mint Motoring?
Our team is looking for enthusiast vehicles being offered by people who share our passion for motoring. Whether it’s a high-performance car, show stopping classic, canyon carving motorcycle, rock crushing SUV, open road RV, or a dune blasting side-by-side we share your passion for motoring and look to pass on your story to the next owner. We list clean-titled vehicles (with exception for track or race cars) with documented histories that can be well represented for a transparent selling and buying experience. We don’t list all the vehicles we receive through our application, but we are happy to offer resources and options to everyone!
How do I submit my vehicle for sale?
Click here to submit your vehicle application! If your vehicle is accepted, we will assign you a listing manager to assist you with setting up your listing.
How should I prepare for the listing?
- Documentation – We will require documents such as the title or most recent loan statements as well as a valid ID as proof of vehicle ownership (this will not be included in the listing, we just need it as part of our verification process). We will also need you to compile any service records or additional documentation you have collected during the life of the vehicle. Also, consider getting a SMOG test and certificate before listing. These will be included in the listing to help potential buyers make a more educated purchase. The more information you have the better!
- Clean Your Vehicle – Thoroughly remove all personal items from the vehicle and detail it to make it shine for the photos!
- Photography – Quality and detailed photos are essential to your listing! We recommend a minimum of 40 to 50 photos of your vehicle to represent it as thoroughly as possible. We have a network of automotive photographers we have partnered with whom you can schedule for your listing’s photos who will capture, a minimum of 100 photos as well as videos. Note – don’t shy away from damage! Photographing any damage or known issues only helps buyers make a more informed decision and a smoother transaction for both parties at the end of the sale.
- Accepting an Offer – After you accept the offer through your portal, we will connect you with the winning party so you can complete the transaction. It is your and the buyer’s responsibility to finalize the transaction in accordance with your local laws and processes. Shipping (if applicable) is typically the responsibility of the buyer to arrange and they should work with you on scheduling the pickup.
Do you only accept vehicles currently in the United States?
Yes, at this moment we are only accepting vehicles that are currently registered and titled within the 50 US states.
Can I sell a vehicle if I still have a loan on it?
Of course! It is however your responsibility as a seller to contact your financing company to understand their process and the options available to you to pay off the loan and transfer the title to the new owner. If your vehicle is accepted, we will ask what the 30-day payoff amount is and disclose the vehicle is currently under a loan in the listing.
What information do I need to provide to sell my vehicle?
The initial application process is simple! We will need you to disclose the vehicle type, year, make, model, trim, VIN, mileage/hours, desired selling price, and a few photos. If accepted, you will be connected to a dedicated listing manager who will ask you additional questions about your ownership of the vehicle and provide you with the photography guide or direct you to schedule an appointment with one of our partnered photographers to shoot some photos for the listing (if you would like professional photos to be taken).
Should I get a PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection)
Getting a PPI for your listing or having a multipoint inspection completed by an accredited mechanic can be very helpful for your listing. We encourage you to provide as much information as possible with your listing to put potential buyers at ease when they submit offers.
Can I put a reserve on my listing?
There’s no need to! With Mint Motoring, we will work with you to determine a competitive initial asking price and you have the ability to accept any offer at any time during the listing. We recommend if you see an offer you like to process with to notify the other potential buyers and interested parties you will be accepting the highest offer by the end of a certain timeframe. You can do this in the comments section of your listing.
How long will my listing be live for?
Your listing will be live for a maximum period of up to 6 months from the original listing date unless you receive an offer you accept at which point the listing will close immediately. We do archive closed listings on our site for records of vehicle sales for buyers to refer to.
Can I list my vehicle for sale elsewhere?
No, while your listing is live with Mint Motoring you cannot advertise your vehicle for sale on other sales or auction platforms. You can share your listing link on your social media accounts if you wish but we ask you to only monitor the questions and comments section on your listing to answer the inquires from potential buyers and accept the offer you want to proceed with. If you attempt to subvert the sale process, your account will be permanently banned from the platform.
Can I close my listing if it’s not selling?
If you wish to close out a listing before a sale is finalized and/or before the 6 month listing period is complete, you will be charged a $250 listing fee.

Mint Motoring does not directly provide financing options for listings. We can recommend some financial institutions that specialize in collector/specialized vehicle financing if you contact us directly, however we always recommend conducting your own research to determine the best fit for your situation. Note – If you are looking to finance the vehicle purchase, please secure a pre-approval before submitting an offer to ensure a smooth transfer of ownership.

Shipping is fully the responsibility of the buying party in the transaction. We highly recommend you conduct your due diligence prior to submitting an offer to determine shipping costs by getting quotes through accredited and well-known shipping services.

Can I cancel my offer?
No, you cannot cancel or retract an offer once you submit it. Submitting an offer enters you into a contract to purchase the vehicle you are submitting an offer for in the event your offer is accepted. Submit offers responsibly!
Can I get a refund on my buyer’s premium if I do not want a vehicle?
